what do you think of philips mp3 players?

I want to buy a mp3 player for my brother and i know that ipods are out of my pricing range. he needs something that is a 1-2GB. I came across a philips mp3 player and it looked nice at a nice price. Are they worth it? If not, what do you suggest?

I have a couple of iPods and a phillips. I like the phillips okay but I hate having to replace the battery every couple of days. I don’t like the iTunes software that comes with pods. I think I’m going to upgrade my Palm to a LifeDrive and give all my MP3 players to my kids.
Getting an ipod might be your best option. The software is just about as easy as you can get. You plug it in, no drivers needed, drag songs over, and your good to go. Not to mention searching for songs and using itunes as a media player is second to none as well. There’s a reason why its the best selling MP3 player. They’ve gotta be doing something right.
All Mp3 players are good, no matter whats the purpose is. Many people got a Mp3 player to put music in. ipods are just the new generation of the Mp3’s. ipods just got games, videos, pictures, and other features. To me, I suggest to get the Phillips, only if he wants music only, and it has a neat price. I know ipods are cool in all, but it too expensive. Get an ipod, or a Zen only if he wants more features.
