In this particular case, I agree with the sales person, although he shouldn’t be telling you it is junk.
Philips TV products are routinely the most problem prone.
okay i think i have the tv you are talking about and i LOVE IT!!! they make commission and they want you to buy the more expensive one so they can have a few extra bucks. i recommend it ps go to Sam’s club that is where we got ours and it was like a few hundred less than walmart
To me, it would all be personal preference. I would certainly go with LG over Philips, LGs look a lot nicer, but that is a personal choice. Either way you go, just be sure to get the extended warranty, I have had issues with both LG and Philips products and their only saving grace was that I had purchased the protection and replacement plans.
And definitely stick with 1080 and 120 hz. Big difference between 720 and 60 hz.
OH ! maybe because of ” profit “. as Philips make good TV for the pass 40 year..from 14 inc B/W to LCD . FRI. Philips and LG LCD TV are use the same LCD panel. as Philips-LG JV LCD panel in Korea, trust by you own eye ! if side by side to compare by same image, will be not difference , why paid 500 more ! Some Philips tv is from Korea, if this model from Korea, is total design by Philips but assembly by LG productions line.
I have had Phillips TV and it was a good set very little down time, but after Christmas the price will come down on all TV’s that was reported on the morning news
