Good Points
Attractive looking, small enough to keep your home entertainment package looking tidy.
Good sound from the speakers, the sub woofer is impressive.
Very easy to set up.
Bad Points
Lack of functionality, opening and closing the disc drive is too time consuming.
Speaker cable is not particular long, or good quality.
Remote seems to interfere with Sky Digital and occasionally will put the TV back on when in Standby mode.
At least one DVD (Lord of the Rings) seems to have problems matching the speaking to the actors mouths.
General Comments
This Philips LX3000D DVD Home Cinema System is a slick, stylish looking machine. The sound quality coming through the speakers is greater than the speaker size would at first lead you to believe.
The remote control also seems to automatically recognise my TV so I can put the unit on standby, increase TV volume and or the DVD’s volume from one controller.
It does lack something in functionality. You can’t open and close the Disc drawer without being on disc mode. So the next morning when you want to return the DVD to the hire shop you are forced to wait for too long while the player tries to read the disc again.
