WD-40 is ok but for this you should use a good penetrating oil. WD-40 actually stands for Water Displacement formula 40. It's mostly made of fish oil, which is why it lubricates well. A penetrating oild would actually work it's way into the threads of the rusted screw.

You can also use a dremel to cut a slot in the head after the oil has a chance to work. Then use a big slotted screw driver to pull it out. Try to make the slot deep and narrow to get a good bite.

#../~scripts/xsltransformsearch.asp?url=http://www.sms.search.philips.com/xmlSearch/search?sid=SMS||xml=true||all=true||l=us_en||s=consumer||q=camera||first=1||last=75&xsl=search_result.xsl

there were several listed here, so, without a model number, this should do it for you. Software is available to download to your computer from there as well:)

if you can get to it, use a hacksaw to cut a slot in it. a rust-cutting penetrating oil will be most helpful

All Mp3 players are good, no matter whats the purpose is. Many people got a Mp3 player to put music in. ipods are just the new generation of the Mp3's. ipods just got games, videos, pictures, and other features. To me, I suggest to get the Phillips, only if he wants music only, and it has a neat price. I know ipods are cool in all, but it too expensive. Get an ipod, or a Zen only if he wants more features.
